This sprawling new build project in Weybridge, Surrey, is a masterclass in texture, scale, and remarkable attention to detail. Moving away from sterile, "new home" aesthetics, the design narrative was focused entirely on rich, honest materials to create a home that feels warm, established, and deeply lived-in from day one. Clean-lined architecture and wide, well-proportioned rooms flow seamlessly into interconnecting living zones.
The undisputed anchor of this home is the grand central island. Crafted from substantial solid oak with beautifully proportioned turned legs and deep drawers, it functions as the ultimate destination where the family and guests instinctively gather. Directly adjacent, an architectural arched chimney area—inspired by traditional inglenooks but executed with a modern, minimalist twist—creates a stunning, texture-rich cooking focal point.
To maintain a calm, clutter-free environment and allow the island to function as a pure social hub, a discrete, separate back kitchen pantry and utility space was created for primary food storage. This thoughtful layout flows directly into a beautiful boot room featuring herringbone brick flooring, rich charcoal-paneled walls, and deep storage drawers, ensuring the main kitchen remains an unhurried space focused entirely on connection.
